Kodiak Charters is a family-owned and operated business that has been providing guests with unforgettable experiences for almost 30 years. Our story began with Randy and Terri, who started the business while raising their three children—Sarah, Brian, and Stephanie. Each member of our family was born and raised in Kodiak and has played a key role in our operations, bringing their passion for hunting, fishing, and providing for their families to everything we do.

Meet the Owners

Randy has spent his entire life hunting and fishing on Kodiak Island, accumulating decades of invaluable experience that has been essential to the success of our operation. During the summer months, he focuses on commercial fishing for crab and salmon, working tirelessly on his fishing vessel.
Terri is the heart of our lodge, always working hard to ensure the lodge is clean, meals are prepared, and our guests have everything they need for a great trip. Known for her kindness, sweet nature, and attention to detail, Terri makes sure that every guest feels welcome and informed, from the moment they book their trip to the time they depart.

Sarah, our oldest daughter, lives in Kodiak and helps with expediting supplies, ensuring that everything our guests need is delivered promptly. Her daughters, Makayla and Jaden, often assist with cooking and serving clients during the summer. Makayla, now 17, is one of our best workers—and the go-to babysitter for Stephanie’s quadruplets!

Brian, our second child, is also a lifelong Kodiak resident with decades of hunting and fishing experience, and is a licensed captain. While he used to guide clients, he now focuses on his career as a full-time commercial fisherman, all while raising his four children in Kodiak.

Stephanie, our youngest, who grew up at the lodge, does it all – whether it’s cooking, serving, cleaning, fishing with clients or filleting fish. She and her husband, Harlen, have been involved in the business for years. Harlen is an experienced sport fishing guide who has been taking clients out on the water for over 10 years. Now, as a proud mom of quadruplets, Stephanie brings her kids to the lodge every year to continue the family tradition.

A Legacy of Family and Hospitality

To sum it up, Terri and Stephanie primarily manage the camp, while Harlen leads clients on fishing trips. You’ll likely see our grandchildren—Makayla, helping with the guests, and the quadruplets running wild, making sure everyone has a memorable experience!
We’ve built our business around family, and our goal is to make you feel like part of ours. Whether you’re here for hunting, fishing, or just to enjoy the beauty of Kodiak Island, we’re here to ensure your stay is unforgettable.

Thank you for being a party of our family’s story!
