What is the Best Time for Halibut Fishing in Kodiak?

Halibut: June through September, with larger fish typically caught from late July to August.
King Salmon: Peak season in June and July.
Coho (Silver) Salmon: Late July through early September.
Lingcod: Available from July 1st through December 31st.

 

What Are the Daily Halibut Fishing Limits in Alaska?

Halibut: 2 per day (1 with a slot limit and 1 of any size). Note: No halibut fishing on Wednesdays.
Salmon: 5 per day, with an additional 2 King Salmon if a stamp is purchased.
Lingcod: 2 per day during the open season.
Rockfish: 5 pelagic, 2 non-pelagic, and 1 yelloweye per day.
Grey Cod: Guide limits vary by daily catch.

We provide all fishing gear, making it easy to target halibut, salmon, rockfish and other species. At the end of your day, we’ll process your catch and freeze it, ensuring it’s ready for you to take home and enjoy.

 

What’s Not Included in Your Kodiak Fishing Trip

While our all-inclusive fishing package has you covered, a few items are not included:

Airfare: Guests are responsible for arranging transportation to our lodge in Larsen Bay, Alaska.
Licenses & Stamps: Be sure to purchase your fishing licenses before your trip. King Salmon stamps must also be purchased with fishing license.
Alcoholic Beverages: Alcohol is not provided but can be purchased in Kodiak before traveling to the lodge.
Staff Gratuities: Gratuities for our dedicated staff are not included in the package price but are greatly appreciated. We recommend tipping  10% of the package price per person, covering guides, cooks, servers, and other team members. You are welcome to tip staff directly based on their performance, alternatively, gratuities can be given to the owner, who will ensure they are distributed appropriately among the team. We are confident you’ll be impressed with the care and professionalism of our staff.
