Experience world-class Sitka Blacktail deer hunting on Kodiak Island, where trophy bucks and breathtaking landscapes combine for an unforgettable adventure. Our area is renowned for producing record-book Sitka Blacktail deer, with many of the top entries coming from right here.
The Sitka Blacktail rut on Kodiak Island begins in the last week of October and continues through the first week of December. Our hunts wrap up by mid-December, as the deer start to lose their antlers.
Best Times to Hunt
Early Season (October): Bucks are often found in higher elevations.
Rut Season (November): Bucks become more active and less wary as they search for does, making this an ideal time for hunting.
Late Season (December): Deer move to lower elevations as snow accumulates, offering easier access.
